Born and raised in Los Angeles, I graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1984. After spending a few years studying illustration at California Art Institute (Calabasas) and UCLA Extension, I got my start in the late '80s as a freelance sketch artist and graphic designer. My career in movie advertising truly got off the ground at Matsuno Design Group. Later at Werndorf and Associates, some of my early movie poster finishes included: My Own Private Idaho, Men In Black 2 and The Mask of Zorro.
Since then, it’s been a long, steady journey through many different agencies and freelance gigs, building what’s now a 35+ year career in entertainment advertising. From 2009 to 2025, I’ve worked as a Creative Director at Art Machine (A Trailer Park Co), adding years of experience leading design teams, managing movie ad campaigns from concept to delivery, and collaborating closely with in-house marketing teams to develop key art and ad campaigns that sell movies.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work with virtually all the major studios—including Warner Bros., Disney, Paramount, Universal, and Sony Pictures—and most all of the streaming services, contributing to literally thousands of film and entertainment projects. My creative journey continues…
THANKS
Thanks for visiting! It must be said that working on any movie key art or campaign is never a solo effort. There are so many people who help guide, assist, or lend their artistic talents to the final image and artwork. I have been fortunate to work with so many super-talented individuals and mentors over the years. My endless thanks to all the illustrators, photographers, designers, copy writers, 3D artists, typographers, production artists, finishers, account teams, clients, and creative directors who, over the years, helped make it all happen.
